As players quickly discover when they begin the sport, disc golf is not as easy as it may seem and proper form is much more difficult to learn and master.
Sure, anyone can go out and play a round and have a blast, but the challenge begins when you really push yourself to improve your form, accuracy, and throwing distance.
One of the best things a new player learning disc golf can buy to help them learn proper form and improve release angles is a straight flying disc.
Specifically, a straight flying putter known as a stable putter.
Stable putters won't generate maximum distance for you compared to midrange drivers and drivers that you will eventually pick up and throw.
They're not just good for you when you're actually putting, either, as they're much more versatile.

Straight flying putters can be an excellent tool to have in your bag to use right off the tee or fairway when you need an easy, straight approach to the basket.
These putters are also an excellent choice when you just need to touch the disc near the basket a little to avoid a big bounce.
In previous articles we have discussed them
The 10 best overstable putters
This can be used in strong headwinds, situations that require a lot of fade, or when a forehand approach is required.
We also discussed those
The 10 Best Straight-Flying Stable Midrange Drivers
This can be used for situations that require just a little bit more distance than a putter can handle.
So now let's take a look at some of the best and most popular straight-flying, stable putter options available today that players use regularly.
Why pack a stable putter?
Stable putters are great for beginners because they can often be described as "point and shoot," meaning they generally go in a nice straight line to where they're thrown.
This requires a lot of accuracy as the discs don't fall back to the basket if you miss your line slightly. So it teaches you accuracy in terms of precision and performance.
Additionally, stable putters are often very efficient at holding whatever line they are placed on, whether it's a hyzer, flat, or anhyzer line. This can help teach a player how to manipulate trigger angles.
More experienced players like to use stable putters because they are often much more accurate than new players and want a putter that they can just "point and shoot".
It's worth noting that we describe these putters in terms of their throwing qualities, but they can certainly be used for putting if you wish, and many players will package the same disc in different plastics for precisely this reason.
Basic synthetics can grip better when putting, but premium synthetics can hold their flight characteristics longer.
So experiment with different shapes and plastics to find what you want!
Heavier weights are also preferred to fight the wind.
With all said, let's finally take a look at the
